Handcrafts

Handcrafts
The artisans here are real artists, giving their work subtle colorings and hues with a meticulousness and delicacy of touch that is quite unique. Their works can be found not only in their workshops and shops, but also in museums in the cities of Michoacán. But paying a visit to the nerve center of their work, (their workshops) where you can watch them apply the details to the greatly-admired masks and their highly valued shellac work –a typical, local handcraft material– or the famous Catrinas, also made in Uruapan, would make for an unforgettable experience.
