Just two miles south of the town of Patzcuaro, on the road to Santa Clara del Cobre, this ranch-resort opened in 1997 amid 25 acres of pine forest, fruit orchards and gardens, ideal for horseback riding and hiking. This 18th-century colonial mansion, originally the residence of a prominent Patzcuaro family, has a prime location in the colonnade facing the picturesque Vasco de Quiroga town square. Close to Lake Patzcuaro and on the outskirts of Patzcuaro, on the highway into town, this pleasant hotel-restaurant opened in 1969 and was expanded in 1998. Colonial-style architecture surrounds a lovely garden. Each spacious room has a fireplace. The restaurant is well known for its delicious Michoacan regional cuisine: typical appetizers, Tarascan soup, and pasta ice cream, as well as a selection of superb tequilas. |
