The River Cupatitzio passes through Uruapan ; and the Eduardo Ruíz National Park should be visited, with its exuberant vegetation, paths and hanging bridges.

Near Uruapan, architecture lovers will enjoy the Purépecha Tableland, a region consisting of a set of indigenous communities, which also maintain their traditions, clothing and excellent gastronomy, with chapels built between the 16 th and 19 th century.

In the same region, you can ride on horseback or walk to the Paricutín volcano, which buried the town of San Juan Parangaricutiro, leaving only the church turrets. Paracho is a famous town because of its guitars, which have traveled around the world, it is craftsmanship which has been passed down to new generations, and Tingambato, another of the beautifully preserved archeological areas. The Michoacán Coast is 279 km. from Uruapan.
